Chesapeake – Miriam Beatrice Keller Moore, 95, passed away on November 12, 2016.
Born in Portage, PA, she was the widow of Rev. Paul Davis Moore. Every aspect of her life centered around caring for others-as a registered nurse, mother, foster parent, pastor’s wife, Sunday school teacher, and even in her beloved retirement community where she assisted others who were less physically able. She served as Director of the Norfolk Baptist Association WMU and for 30 years taught in a weekday after-school ministry at Westminster Baptist Church and East Oceanview Baptist Church. In 1998 the Indian River Ruritan Club named her “Mother of the Year” for her exemplary service to family and community. The last 10 years of her life were dedicated to her “card ministry” which involved sending weekly notes to those she knew who were in need of encouragement.
