Jo-Ann M. Eason, 80, of Chesapeake, went to be with the Lord, Monday, May 24, 2021.

Born in Old Norfolk County, she was the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Morse. She was also predeceased by her husband, J.B. Eason, III, a grandson, Caleb Cyre and a brother, David Morse. Jo-Ann was a high school English teacher in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. She was a long-time member of Great Bridge Baptist Church, where she founded the Widows and Widowers Ministry.  Mrs. Eason was a member of the Hickory Ruritan Club.

Survivors include her son, Jerome Bruce “Jerry” Eason, IV and his wife Michelle, a daughter, Julie Cyre and husband James; grandchildren, Connor Eason, Cassidy Eason, Cameron Cyre and Cathleen Cyre; a brother, Allen Morse and wife Peggy, and sisters-in-law, Tammy Morse, Cynthia Fields, Joyce Thompson and Becky Hearring, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2021 at Great Bridge Baptist Church. The interment will be private in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Oman Funeral Home & Crematory.
