  • Program Chair for National Conventions for a number of years
  • Served on the Expansion committee (then known as the Public Relations Committee) with Marvin Gray and Tom Downing, devoting many hours to telling the Ruritan story in the early formative years.
  • Started the first Ruritan Newsletter
  • During W.W. II, he was the Speaker for the War Finance Committee of Virginia and served as a ‘Dollar-A-Year-Man’ to promote the sale of war bonds.
